At Chilliwack Labradoodles, we have always gone above and beyond following strict health and safety standards when it comes to our home and puppies.  With world realism, of the Coronavirus we have revamped our protocols to ensure the continued health and safety of our puppies and Chilliwack Labradoodle Families alike.

Changes that we have made:

-We have increased our online process.

Paperwork including contracts will be sent out via email to individual families prior to the Puppy Pick-up date. We have taken extra measures to ensure that we continue to practice appropriate social distancing and no contact puppy visits or pick-ups.

-We have implemented a No Visit Policy. Including family and friends that are not self-quarantined within our property. Instead, we provide weekly Pup Dates and Videos. 

​

Family Puppy Visits:  We know how important and anticipated the Puppy Visit is for our families.  At this time we have canceled all Puppy Visits. Instead, we will be moving our Pup Dates from biweekly to weekly!

 

What is a Pup Date?

Once you are on a Reservation List for a Chilliwack Labradoodles litter, we will send out regular emails updating each of our families on the progress of their litter. These Pup Dates include individual photos of each puppy and videos of your litter. The frequency to which you receive your email will depend on, what stage of our Reservation Process you are in.

-Puppy Assignment:  From the time the puppies are born, members from our program are categorically observing the puppies.  We watch for some specific some not so specific traits, tendencies, and overall temperament of the puppies.  For example, we expose them to early neurological stimulation and observe their reactions, they are introduced to different environments and various ages of people from babies to seniors.  Then between 6-8 weeks of age, we will do a Personality Check on each puppy.  This includes things like inviting a stranger in to observe how the puppies react and interact with them.  Finally, at 7 weeks of age, we will do Formal Temperament and Personality Testing on each puppy know as "Volhard's Aptitude Test."

Our Puppy Assignment process with the exception of having a stranger perform a Personality Check on each puppy has not changed.  The Personality Check will still be performed, instead, by a senior member of our program that has spent the least amount of time with our puppies and resides in a separate residence on our property.

-Prior to Puppy-Pick-Up Day, we will be sending each family a video reviewing your Puppies Information Folder.

-Puppy Pick-Up Day:  We will be sending each family an email outlining the Puppy-Pick-Up process and what to expect.

 

With the uncertainties surrounding COVID-19, we need to come together and do all that we can to stop the spread of the virus. Our protocols remain fluid and will change to reflect new health and safety precautions as advised. We will continue to keep our families up to date and informed on any change in your Reservation Process.
