Our Approach
Our whole family raises your puppy at Chilliwack Labradoodles
Chilliwack Labradoodles puppies are nurtured by our large, neurodiverse blended family including adopted children. Our philosophy centers on creating a nurturing environment that celebrates differences and fosters inclusivity, ensuring our puppies become beloved members of your family.

How Our Family History Has
Shaped Us As Breeders
Our journey and experiences as a family have shaped our approach, ensuring that every puppy we raise is nurtured with the care, understanding, and the attention needed to thrive in your home.

Starting over 28 years ago as a blended family of five, which quickly grew to seven members with an addition of two biological sons. Our journey took an unexpected turn when one of our older sons was diagnosed with developmental disabilities. Today, he lives with us as an adult dependent. In the following years, our younger son was diagnosed with Autism. With high-functioning Autism today, he is married and raising a family.
Despite challenges in verbal communication, each brings a unique perspective to our Labradoodle breeding. Their exceptional receptive language skills have formed a nuanced understanding of a puppy’s needs, significantly enhancing our approach to raising Labradoodles.

Building a Non-Traditional Family:
Our passion for family compelled us to support others by providing respite to foster families and aiding in children’s transitions back to their biological families. One of the calls we received was for a newborn infant with substance exposure. Although we did not know it at the time, this was when we met and adopted our first daughter.
Becoming foster and adoptive parents involves a rigorous vetting process, extensive training, and ongoing education. This firsthand experience profoundly influences our approach to matching puppies with families. We prioritize aligning each puppy’s temperament with your family’s needs to create a deep, successful, and trusting relationship.
A few years later and after the incredible experience of adopting our first daughter, we were inspired to adopt three of our foster children. With each child having unique neurodiverse needs, we dedicated ourselves to supporting their individual requirements, knowing that each effort would strengthen their bond with our family. This insight has guided the interactions we take with our puppies, gauging areas each of the puppies are strongest and areas to build upon resilience and wanted behaviors.

Welcoming Labradoodles into Our Family
Our education and practical experience with foster care influences every aspect of our breeding program. With a deep understanding of our own breeding lines and the qualities they carry forward—such as temperament, confirmation, and genetics—we ensure the continued advancement of our Australian Labradoodle line. This knowledge equips us to anticipate the characteristics of future litters, enabling us to assist each family in choosing the most suitable litter match for their needs.

How We Ensure the Health and Well-being of Your Future Labradoodle
Once identified, breeding prospects undergo comprehensive health and genetic evaluations to confirm their suitability. These tests cover a broad spectrum of health markers and genetic factors, aligning with the rigorous standards set by WALA and ALAA. By strictly adhering to these protocols, we underscore our commitment to ethical breeding practices and provide our families with the assurance that their future puppy comes from a lineage of health-tested and genetically sound parents. By prioritizing the well-being of our dogs, we uphold the highest standards of responsible breeding and ensure that our families can welcome happy, healthy companions into their homes with peace of mind.

How Our Unique Socialization Approach Benefits Your Puppy
Our protocols of puppy raising, including early environmental stimulation (ESN) and positive reinforcement training, are complemented by our neurodiverse family's individualized approach. Each family member brings their own set of skills and techniques to puppy socialization, resulting in a well-rounded and comprehensive socialization program.
For example, our middle daughter's quiet patience and calming presence provide puppies with a sense of security and trust, while our youngest son's energetic and adventurous spirit exposes them to playful interactions and varied stimuli. These diverse interactions help puppies develop confidence, adaptability, and emotional resilience from a very young age
Moreover, our layered approach to socialization ensures that puppies are exposed to a wide range of experiences in a controlled and supportive environment. This helps them build a strong foundation for future interactions with different people, animals, and environments, making it easier for even first-time families to continue their care seamlessly.

Puppy Assignment
